Computer Break

computerHours at the computer can really make you feel stiff in the mid back, and this can start to affect your neck and shoulders too.

Here’s a quick and easy technique to ease and mobilise that stiffness.

Sit forward on your chair with your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands on your thighs.

Draw yourself up from the top of your head. Keeping your nose pointing straight ahead, slide one hand forward and the other hand back, allowing your shoulders to turn and follow direction of the arms. Alternate the hand slide so that your shoulders turn from side to side. Stay soft and allow your muscles to release into the rhythm of the movement.

Check out our video: Spinal Mobility 1: thigh slides for a demonstration of this technique.
